Kausani is a small, stunning hill station in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand state of India, located 53 km north of Almora. Kausani is a beautiful hill station famous for its striking 300 km wide beautiful sight of the Himalayas.
It is about 1900 MTR above sea level. It also has thick dense pine forests and is separated from Nanda Devi Ridges by low mountains. From March to May the temperature ranges from 25 °C to 10 °C, but in winter comes down to -2 °C. Hill stations like Nainital, Almora and Ranikhet are easily covered by the Kausani. Kausani offers great exposure to the Himalayas and makes it a very good place for an excursion. It is also the birthplace of the very famous poet Sumitra Nandan Pant. Nation Mr Mahatma Gandhi stayed for 12 days because of its calm environment at Anashakti Yoga Ashram and praised its natural beauty and calm environment.
