Lansdowne Pauri Uttarakhand
Lansdowne is one of the most beautiful hill stations of Uttarakhand. Lansdowne is situated in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttaranchal. This is not a famous hill station, but it’s a beautiful place for weekend tours. This hill station is situated around 81 km away from Pauri, at a height of 1,706 meters, and is famous for its peaceful environment and natural beauty.
It was founded by “Lord Lansdowne” in 1887 A.D., who was the Viceroy of India at that time, thus this place has been named Lansdowne. The Garhwal Rifles, which is part of the Indian Army also, has its command office here.
As I said, it’s a good place for weekend tours from nearby areas like Delhi. During a stay in Lansdowne, there are some good places to visit in Lansdowne as Garhwal Rifles Regimental War Memorial, Garhwali Mess, Regimental Museum, Bhulla Tal, Tip-n-Top, Church Point, Santoshi Mata Temple, Bhairav Garhi temple and Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple. So, make sure to plan a trip to Lansdowne and enjoy the natural beauty of Uttarakhand Tourism.
