Best Places to Visit in Dehradun
Mussoorie:
Mussoorie, known as the Queen of Hills, is located at a height of 2000 meters and is one of the most beautiful and popular hill stations and resorts of Uttarakhand. It was set in the year 1823, by Captain Young during the British era, and is 34 Km from Dehradun (the city of love).
Tiger View Jungle Camp:
Nothing can be better than this in the Dehradun district for a true wildlife lover and photographer, finding opportunities for Jungle Camping and Tiger spotting in nearby Goolar Khalla village.
Gun Hill:
It is the second-highest mountain peak of Mussoorie and had a gun mounted over it, which was fired to hear midday. Travelling by the 400-meter-long ropeway connecting Mall Road to Gun Hill is quite amazing and exciting.
Sahastradhara:
A beautiful and lovely waterfall with thousands of fold springs is popular for its rouse beauty. The Baldi River, swimming pools, and caves are added to the charm location.
Assan Barrage(40 Km):
The wetland near the junction of rivers Assan and Yamuna attracts numerous migrant birds and is an ‘Ornithologist’s paradise.
Nag Devta Temple:
The ancient temple of Nag Devta on Cart Road is 6 km away from the Dehradun town and is popular among devout followers, who believe that wishes are fulfilled here.
Robber’s Cave:
Popularly known as Guchhu Paani or Gucci Paani. The cave has a scenic location, bounded by majestic hills in suburban areas. The cave has 1 Km trek and pristine streams after that.
Dehradun Zoo:
When you are in Dehradun you must visit the Dehradun Zoo to see the local animals and birds found in Uttarakhand and others also.
Bhadraj Temple(15 Km):
This temple is dedicated to Lord Balbhadra(Balram), brother of Shri Krishna. Paranomic view of Doon Valley and Chakrata ranges.
Surkhanda Devi(35Km):
This temple of Surkanda Devi is located at a distance of 8 Km from Dhanaulti. The temple offers a beautiful view.
FRI:
Forest Research Institute of India is located in Uttarakhand, Dehradun. FRI is also the best place to visit in Dehradun, daily hundreds of visitors visit FRI.
Jwalaji Temple(9Km):
It is one of the best temples to visit in Dehradun. The fanes amidst succulent forests afford a fine and majestic view of Himalayan peaks, Doon Valley and Yamuna Valley.
Rishikesh(20Km)
Rishikesh, the place of sages, is an important pilgrimage and sacred place on the right bank of the holy river Ganga. It is surrounded by Shivalik ranges on three sides and is the starting point for the Garhwal and Char Dham pilgrimage.
