Mussoorie the name of the place was named after the famous plant of Mussoorie “Shrub Mansoor”. These plants are found in large quantities in the Mussoorie region. The history of Mussoorie starts from the year 1825 when a shooting lodge was constructed by the British military officer captain Young and Mr Shore who were the Superintendent of Revenues at Dehradun.
