History of Auli
The meaning of Auli is basically “Bugyal”. The snow-covered hill station Auli was inhabited by Bhotiya tribes and was a hub for trade and Business. For centuries, the Bhotiya peoples used to trade on the barter system with the neighboring country Tibet(in the present time the part of China).
The slopes of Auli were used for training the soldiers who were used by the king at that time. Later these slopes were used to train the forces of ITBP(Indo – Tibetan Border Police) and at present time these slopes are for winter skiing sports and tourists.
